A simple gift of Jane Goodalls book "In the shadow of man" given to an impressionable 10 year old by her father, was a defining moment in Maria's young life. The stirring descriptions of chimpanzee families and African forests provided the inspiration that led to her devoting her life to the conservation of our closest living relatives, and many other wildlife species and their habitats.
As part of an honours degree which examined threats to wild chimpanzee populations, Maria made numerous trips to Central Africa to carry out research and help with chimpanzee conservation projects. This first hand experience gave her an understanding of the difficulties conservation organisations face - especially the need for funding - and drove her to try to find a way to help..... Fully Stoked was born.
Interest in the business name soon led to the idea of selling fully stoked branded products from which a portion of each transaction would be channeled towards supporting conservation projects.
Fully stoked has become a dedicated team of people from all sorts of backgrounds who share a passion for the earth, and an enthusiasm to make the fully stoked vision come true. We all believe in the paradigm that underpins the philosophy that is fully stoked.
